PIERCE COUNTY’S CELEBRATION OF TOYS AND ALL THE GEEKINESS THAT COMES WITH IT

Pierce County Toy and Geek Festival brings new and vintage toys, comic books, video games, movies, and anything pop culture together under one roof for an interactive and fun-filled showcase open to families, fans, and geeks together for the first time.

This event is a celebration of play and entertainment for all ages. An immersive, experience-rich event for children, parents, families, and teenage and adult fans. With hands-on exhibits, awesome displays, dozens of toy and entertainment brands, and never-before-seen exclusives, attendees can feel, touch, and take home their favorite toys and games — and be the first to glimpse the toys of tomorrow!

When:  August 12th, 10am – 5pm (early access 8am)
Cost:  Tickets are $6 for adults & $4 for kids ages 10-2

Pierce County Toy and Geek Festival will open its doors for the first time in the South Sound on August 12th to toy collectors.  Dozens of vendors and exhibitors will be on-hand selling everything from Action Figures, Super Hero Toys, Star Wars, LEGO, GI Joe, Transformers, Mego, Dolls, Barbie, Video Games, Movie Memorabilia, Original Art Creations, Vintage Lunchboxes, Matchbox, Sci-Fi Toys, Fast Food Toys, Comic Books, Collectibles, Non-Sports Cards, Hot Wheels, and Much Much More…..

Artists on Display

Along with a great lineup of vendors, the show will host professional artists that will have their original work on display. This show is for anyone, of any age, that loves or collects toys or memorabilia at the Washington State Fairgrounds.  The Pierce County Toy and Geek Festival will be held in the Red Gate Building and will be over 9,000 square feet of space of toys and fun.  Entrance to the event will be through the Red Gate at the NW corner of the Fairgrounds.

Here is a list of some of what you can expect:

  • Dozens of Vendors – New and old toys will be for sale from vendors across the Puget Sound.  New and vintage, rare and common toys will on display for viewing, display, and for purchase.
  • Artists on Display –  Come see pop-culture-inspired works by artists from the area on display. Purchase a one-of-a-kind souvenir that none of your friends will have. Learn more about some of the artists and what goes into their work. Speak with the artist on their different mediums and learn what sort of inspiration goes into creating each piece.
  • Costumes on Display – Dress up and have fun.  Be a geek, be an Ewok, or your favorite television personality.  Just have fun.  There will be prizes and awards for the best costumes of the day.
  • Prizes and Giveaways – Attendees will be given a ticket to be used for hourly drawings and giveaways for show attendees.  Prizes will also be awarded for: Best Male Costume, Best Female Costume, Best Group Costume (2 or more), Best Kid Costume (under 10), and Best Doppelganger.  Prizes will be awarded by the organizing committee and online votes.
  • Interactive Exhibits – Try out some toys and games in the play area.  Build with your favorite bricks, mold your favorite heroes in clay, or play some great new family board games.
  • Photo Ops – Take pictures with some pretty favorite 4-wheeled characters!  We are keeping the guest list under wraps for now, but you will know these good ol’ boys.
  • Toys on Display – Glimpse vintage toys, rare variants, and mock-ups of upcoming toys to learn about the past, present, and future of some of America’s favorite toys and games!
  • Can I wear a costume?
    Absolutely.  However, this is a family event and costumes should be appropriate.  No functional props or weapons are allowed.
  • Do you accept credit cards if we purchase at the door?
    Yes
  • Do kids need a ticket?
    Yes  Ages 2-10 is only $4
  • Will there be rum?
    No
  • Do I need to print the online tickets or just have the image on my phone?
    Either works
  • Can I get tickets at the door?
